Tim Swanson approaches his practice with an energy and breadth of knowledge that assures clients they are well-protected.  He focuses his practice primarily on commercial real estate, banking and mortgage lending.

Tim began his legal career as a judge advocate in the United States Marine Corps stationed at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.  There, he provided guidance to unit commanders in the areas of administrative law, ethics and general installation management.  Additionally, he represented individual Marines and Sailors in such wide-ranging civil matters as family law, estate planning, consumer law and real estate.  Upon leaving active duty to pursue a civilian legal career, he served for four years in the Selected Marine Corps Reserve with 4th Assault Amphibian Battalion in Galveston, Texas.

He is well-versed in commercial real estate, providing institutional lenders, businesses and individuals the guidance necessary to safeguard their interests and close transactions.  Tim provides lenders counsel in all facets of commercial lending including transactions, regulatory compliance and collections matters.  In particular, he has significant experience in construction and permanent financing, commercial leases, purchase and sale agreements, as well as loan workouts and foreclosure.

Tim’s clients include Moody National Bank, American National Insurance Company, Galveston Historical Foundation and National Western Life Insurance Company.
