Angie Olalde is a senior member of the firm’s litigation team. She brings significant appellate experience and expertise to bear on behalf of her corporate and individual clients in a wide variety of business disputes in state and federal courts, at both trial and appellate levels, as well as in arbitration. She also works with local counsel throughout the United States and Puerto Rico to ensure that the best possible results are obtained for her clients in litigation and insurance regulatory matters.
Board Certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in Civil Appellate Law, Angie has appeared and argued before Texas state appellate courts, the Texas Supreme Court, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and has won numerous cases on appeal. Angie has prosecuted and defended cases for bank, insurer, public, and individual clients on a broad array of matters, including property rights, business disputes, cases involving annuities, and insurance and reinsurance coverage disputes. She has represented public entities in civil rights litigation and appraisal matters and has provided pro bono representation to individuals and entities in Texas.
Angie’s diverse client base includes insurance companies, banks, fiduciaries, assisted living facilities, real estate developers, private business entities, and individuals, as well as appraisal districts, and county agencies.

Representative Cases
- Successfully prosecuted appeal challenging jurisdiction on behalf of bank client in a real estate development case over a land permitting issue
- Protected insurance company client from improper lawsuit, successfully obtaining emergency appellate relief on appeal that ordered the trial court to dismiss plaintiff’s case for lack of standing
- On behalf of a bank client, obtained a favorable appellate judgment in a case involving a statutory question that had not been previously ruled on by Texas courts
- Successfully defended trial court orders in mandamus appeals
- Successfully defended trial court’s judgment on appeal for individual client in construction defect case
- Working with local counsel, obtained an order staying what would have been an expensive discovery process, and obtained a final summary judgment in favor of insurer client in federal court
- Secured significant reduction of jury trial award against healthcare defendant on appeal
- Upheld a change-of-venue order in an emergency appeal for a bank client
