The Securities Litigation team at Greer, Herz & Adams, LLP has substantial litigation and trial experience prosecuting complex, high-profile securities fraud actions on behalf of both individual and institutional plaintiffs.
Our attorneys have extensive knowledge of the laws that regulate the securities markets and in corporate disclosure requirements for publicly traded securities. On behalf of individual, pension fund and other institutional investor clients, Greer Herz has pursued breach of fiduciary duty and fraud claims arising from securities fraud and non-disclosure schemes. Our securities prosecutions include, for example:
- Acting as Co-Counsel in obtaining $567 million jury verdict after multi-month trial on behalf of multiple plaintiffs in an accounting fraud litigation against a Big Four auditor and various other financial institutions for their roles in creating false financial reporting for a publicly traded defendant company.
- Obtaining substantial restitution on behalf of a national bank, several financial institution plaintiffs and numerous individuals who opted out of a related accounting fraud class action litigation against the auditors for Sunbeam, Inc.
- Successfully representing financial institution plaintiffs and recovering losses from numerous defendants who violated the securities laws and committed common law fraud by assisting Enron in falsifying financial statements.
Further, we have successfully represented clients before the relevant regulatory bodies including the National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD) and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA).
