GH&A attorneys, Andrew Mytelka, Marc Young, and Victoria Rutherford, recently secured a victory for their client, Hemphill County Appraisal District (“Hemphill CAD”), by defending Hemphill CAD in an ad valorem tax dispute concerning the 2022 and 2023 market values of midstream Oil and Gas assets owned by Palo Duro. After a three-day jury trial, the jury found that Hemphill CAD’s appraisals of Palo Duro’s assets were not excessive of market value and unanimously affirmed Hemphill CAD’s appraisal of the Palo Duro assets at approximately $72 Million and $79 Million for tax years 2022 and 2023, respectfully.
