Greer Herz & Adams, LLP is pleased to announce the unanimous appointment of Jillian Bliss, who serves in the firm’s Real Estate Transactions & Finance division, to the City of New Braunfels Historic Landmark Commission. On July 24, 2023, members of the New Braunfels City Council heard from Jillian and another candidate at the council’s monthly meeting in determination of the most adequate candidate to fill the vacant seat on the HLC, which “recommends to City Council policies to protect, enhance and perpetuate landmarks or districts of historical and cultural importance and promote economic prosperity and welfare and encourage stabilization; restoration, and improvements of such properties.” (See Historic Landmark Commission web page: https://onboard.newbraunfels.gov/board/3213). Due to Jillian’s experience in historic preservation – both in legal issues and physical conservation activities – at the Alamo Complex in San Antonio, all members of the council voted in favor of Jillian’s appointment. Jillian has been appointed to this role to serve a four-year term.
Previously, on May 15, 2023, a majority of the members of the New Braunfels City Council voted to appoint Jillian to fill an alternate role on the city’s Zoning Board of Adjustment, which hears and determines commercial, residential, and multi-family appeals to the city’s zoning ordinances. Jillian was selected for this role due to her experience in real estate transactions and complex issues of property law, and was appointed for a two-year term.
