Laura Balhoff Englert was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.  Ms. Englert received her Bachelor of Science from Louisiana State University in 2003.  In 2006 she received a Doctor of Jurisprudence from Louisiana State University School of Law, where she was  a member of the Moot Court Board and placed second in the National Tax Moot Court Competition.  Ms. Englert won the Ira S. Flory trial competition and was named the Outstanding Graduate of Louisiana State University School of Law of 2006.  She is licensed to practice before the courts of the State of Texas.
