Born in
Houston, Texas, Ms. Rushing received her Bachelor of Arts in 1983 and her Doctor
of Jurisprudence in 1986 from the University of Houston. In 1987, Ms. Rushing
was Adjunct Professor of Legal Studies at the University of Houston-Clear Lake.
Ms. Rushing has served as a Director of the Gulf Coast Legal Foundation from
1991-96 and was President of that organization in 1995. Ms. Rushing is a member
of the Galveston County and American Bar Associations and the State Bar of Texas.
Ms. Rushing is a member of the Galveston Young Lawyers Association and served
as the association's President from 1990-91.
Ms. Rushing's primary practice areas are civil litigation and insurance law.
