J.D. Epstein received both his Bachelor of Science
in 1965 and his Doctor of Jurisprudence in 1967 from the University of Illinois.
Mr. Epstein was admitted to the
practice of law in the states of Illinois, Texas and the District of Columbia.
Since the early seventies, Mr. Epstein has limited his practice to health care
issues, and is nationally known for his representation of thousands of
hospitals, nursing homes, home health agencies, HMOs, physicians, medical staffs
and related clients throughout the country. Mr. Epstein is a former partner and
leader of the Healthcare Industry Practice at Vinson & Elkins, L.L.P. Mr.
Epstein has been listed in Best Lawyers in America (Healthcare) for over a
decade, Texas Super Lawyer, Chambers Tier One Ranking, Expert Guide to Law
(Healthcare), a recipient of American Health Lawyers Association’s David
Greenburg Award for Meritorious Service, and is Past President and a Founding
Fellow of the American Health Lawyers Association. Mr. Epstein is a past
Chairman, Executive Committee Member and Counsel to the Texas Chapter and served
on the National Board of Volunteers of the March of Dimes. He currently serves
on the Board of Visitors of the University of Illinois Law School and on the UTMB
