Irwin M. (Buddy)
Herz, Jr. was born in Galveston. After receiving his Bachelor of Arts from Rice
University in 1961 and his Doctor of Jurisprudence from The University of Texas
School of Law in 1964, Mr. Herz was admitted to the practice of law in Texas.
Mr. Herz is a Commissioner of the Galveston Housing Authority, a member of the
Development Board of the University of Texas Medical Branch, a member of the
Board of Visitors of Texas A&M at Galveston, and has served as Chairman of the
Galveston Economic Development Corporation. Mr. Herz is also a member of the
Board of Directors of American National Insurance Company, American National
Property & Casualty Company, and Garden State Life Insurance Company, and serves
on the Executive and Audit Committees of American National Insurance Company.
In addition to acting as the firm's Senior Partner, Mr. Herz practices corporate law, insurance law, and foundations and non-profit corporations law.
